Smoking Policy
I do not smoke and neither does my husband. I have a strict no smoking policy on any part of the childminding premises, as well as my car, whilst children are present. Any visitors to my house outside of childminding hours will not be allowed to smoke inside the house or in my car.
If we are outside of the childminding premises and a person is smoking nearby I will move to another area or ask the person to refrain from smoking around the children.
When dropping off or collecting your child, I kindly request that any parents who smoke themselves, do not have cigarettes or tobacco on view to the children. Also please be aware that smoke remains on clothing or belongings long after smoking. Please ensure that bags, clothing or belongings that are being left at the premises remain free from smoke smells as this can still be inhaled by children.
I will help children to learn about the effects of smoking as appropriate to their age and development. I do not intend to give children a negative image of those people who do smoke, but to give children the knowledge they need to make their own healthy choices later in life.
